On September 17th, over 60 dedicated employees from our Dominican Republic team joined forces with volunteers from Haina International Terminal to partake in the International Coastal Cleanup Day with an impactful mission: the extensive cleanup of Manresa Beach, situated within the Haina Port Terminal.
With unwavering dedication, Seaboard Dominican Republic employees and their families diligently collected predominantly plastic bottles, foam, and other discarded waste within a 200-meter stretch of Manresa Beach. The combined efforts of all participating volunteers resulted in the impressive removal of 4.7 tons of debris from this coastal area.
Manresa Beach is a vital nesting ground for endangered species, like the Leatherback, Hawksbill, and Green Turtle. For Seaboard Marine, this effort transcends to be more than a mere cleanup; it represents our collective commitment to preserving the marine environment. Moreover, it is a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to protect and conserve our coastlines’ fragile ecosystems.
