The United States Domestic Fuel Surcharge (USDFS) will be applicable on all motor, motor/rail, and rail moves routed via Carriers designated United States Port of Loading or Port of Discharge for the inland points defined in a specific general tariff TLI or Service Contract. The Inland Search shall apply the USDFS as per the referenced table for the index percentage applicable as of the inland search date.
The USDFS is based upon the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Index of the average monthly retail on-highway diesel prices across all types in the U.S. (in dollars per gallon, including all taxes). The DOE index can be located by calling 202-586-6966 or accessed on the web at www.eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/.
The retail monthly average price of No. 2 Diesel, as published by the DOE, at the end of the current month will be the basis for applicable USDFS percentage that will be applied on the 1st day of the month following the DOE publication date. Example: The DOE monthly price publish at the end of March will be used as the basis for the charges that will be applied on May 1st. The applicable surcharge percentage shall be derived from the table below.
