Seaboard Marine is proudly sponsoring the Florida Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association (FCBF) “Hall of Fame” obelisk which will be unveiled next month. Seaboard’s Jose Perez-Jones, Senior VP, has been selected by the FCBF Hall of Fame Committee as one of the inductees and will be honored with ten (10) other members of the 2011 class. One of the founders of Seaboard Marine in 1983, Perez-Jones is being recognized due to his exceptional dedication and commitment to the growth and development of Florida’s trade and logistic industry. Other local leaders being honored include: Jose Aguirre, Frank Arevalo, Gerry Lesnik, Chris Mangos, Jordan Monocandilos, Roberto Perez, Gene Rodriguez, Amanda Ros, Charles Schwartz and Bill Spohrer.
Founded over fifty years ago, the FCBF has grown into the most influential and active representative body of the Florida Freight Forwarding and Customs Broker Community. Through its numerous committees of volunteer professionals, the FCBF represents the industry on matters that directly affect the trade arena. The FCBF constantly provides critical input for the development of international trade policies through constant communication with various state and federal agencies. FCBF offers a wide variety of opportunities such as export/import networking that help generate new client leads for FCBF’s hundreds of members.
Located in the heart of the City of Doral, the new monument coincides with the formation of the Hall of Fame Scholarship Foundation, which in addition to the construction of the obelisk, will offer scholarships to educate and ensure the future of the trade and logistics community. The FCBF is requesting the industry’s assistance in the construction of this prestigious monument which will also help fund the newly formed scholarship program once completed.
