Seaboard Marine once again participated in Liga Contra El Cancer’s (the League Against Cancer) annual telethon in their mission to provide medical care for those battling cancer. Founded in Miami in 1975 as a community-based, non-profit organization, Liga Contra El Cancer has provided free medical care to in-need cancer patients in South Florida for over four decades. We know first-hand and can attest to the league’s generosity and humanitarian efforts as they have often served families and friends of our employees with needed medical care and attention.

During the fundraising event, we presented a $10,000 donation to further their cause in serving cancer patients throughout South Florida at an intake and treatment facility. Seaboard Marine’s President Edward Gonzalez said, “This is a tradition we are proud to continue in 2021 as many cancer patients continue to be at greater risk due to the pandemic. Seaboard Marine is proud to continue supporting a worthy cause and applauds Liga Contra El Cancer for their impactful work. We wish them many more successful years of making a meaningful difference in our community.”

More than 350 Florida physicians, who are board-certified in their specialties, volunteer their services to the League Against Cancer. In the organization’s history, over 50,000 low-income, uninsured men, women, and children have received world-class medical treatment, screenings, and support. Patients receive the appropriate medical treatments at no cost to them.
