Seaboard Marine recently received its fifth consecutive Empresa Socialmente Responsable (ESR) award from FUNDAHRSE, a Honduran non-profit organization that promotes Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Last month, FUNDAHRSE formally presented Seaboard Marine’s Honduras office with the 2018 award for continuous commitment to sustainable economic development while improving the quality of life of its employees and their families as well as the local community. Daniel Paredes, Regional Manager in Tegucigalpa, Honduras received the award on behalf of Seaboard Marine.

This year, our Honduras office partnered with the Medical Brigade of  Continuing Promise 2018 in their mission in Puerto Cortes. Seaboard Marine donated over 200 units of Intrafer, a medicine used to treat children suffering from iron deficiency. Additionally, during United Way’s Reforestation project, several members of our San Pedro Sula office participated in the project, which resulted in 1,300 trees planted in La Tigra National Park.

Daisy Pastor, Seaboard Marine Honduras General Manager, said, “We are honored to once again receive this distinguished seal in 2018. We are very proud of our team in Honduras for energetically embracing our CSR strategy that has earned this award for a fifth straight year. We are also appreciative of our customers that continue to support Seaboard Marine which makes all of this possible.”
