In the spirit of giving back to our local communities, Seaboard Marine supported Jackson Memorial Hospital in its annual Holiday Toy Drive, collecting and donating toys and extensive monetary contributions from its executive staff and employees. On December 18th, Seaboard Marine employees Chris Concepcion, Tina Marrero, and Edgardo Lara personally delivered the toys and cash donations to the Pediatric Transplant Unit at Holtz Children’s Hospital in downtown Miami, where they distributed gifts to children spending their holidays under the care of hospital staff. Seaboard Marine has participated in Jackson Memorial’s Toy Drive for the last 25 years.
The Jackson Memorial Toy Drive provides Christmas gifts to hospitalized children across Jackson Health System’s South Florida locations. One of the largest pediatric healthcare systems in the southeastern United States, Seaboard Marine is one of the season’s primary donors, contributing thousands of dollars’ worth of toys and donations to the organization.
“We’re so thankful we can make a positive impact on children spending their holidays at Jackson Memorial,” says Chris Concepcion, Marketing Manager. “I’m overwhelmed by the generosity of our employees year after year.”
While a portion of the donation is hand-delivered, the remaining gifts are administered through the Holiday Snow pile, which distributes presents across the hospital’s robust network of health centers.
“Seaboard Marine’s contributions to the Holiday Snow Pile takes an enormous burden off of parents this holiday season,” says Kimberly Morales, Child Life Specialist at Holtz Children’s Hospital. “Their help during this difficult time is truly immeasurable.”
