Seaboard Marine was presented the prestigious “Export Service” award tonight at the 12th annual gala dinner of Adoexpo (Association of Dominican Exporters) which was attended by over 400 persons at the Jaragua hotel in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Serving the Dominican export community for nearly two decades, Adoexpo promotes economic development in all sectors including transportation, heavy industry and agriculture.
The primary criteria for the award is providing a consistently reliable and high level of service to Dominican exporters. Other prestigious entities that were also nominated for the 2008 award included Scotiabank, General Air Services, Haina International Terminals and the Canadian Embassy.
Jose Perez-Jones, Senior Vice President, accepted the award on behalf of Seaboard Marine and said, “We are honored to be recognized by the Dominican business community and we are very grateful to have been selected as the winner over a fine group of deserving companies. Seaboard Marine has made major investments in the Dominican Republic to be able to provide exporters with the high quality service that they deserve. Seaboard Marine has a total of nine vessel calls each week to the Dominican Republic with service to Rio Haina, Puerta Plata and Boca Chica.
