Seaboard Marine has supported the Jackson Memorial Toy Drive by collecting toys and monetary contributions from employees, then delivering them directly to the less fortunate children for the past 24 years. On December 18th, Seaboard employees, Tina Marrero and Edgardo Lara, purchased gifts using monetary contributions, as well as other Seaboard employee toy donations, and delivered the toys to the Holtz Children’s Hospital.

Tina Marrero said, “It is a pleasure to provide toys to these deserving children. I am both proud and appreciative of our employees who continue to support this tradition of charitable giving.”

The Jackson Memorial Toy Drive provides Christmas gifts to hospitalized children to all of the South Florida locations of the Jackson Health System, which operates several hospitals and health facilities throughout Miami-Dade County.A portion of the gifts were individually handed to children in the Pediatric Transplant Unit at Holtz Children’s Hospital. The remaining gifts are distributed through Holiday Snow pile.

“We are grateful for the continued support and generosity of Seaboard Marine’s employees”, said Kimberly Morales, Child Life Specialist at Holtz Children’s Hospital. “Their contributions to the Holiday Snow pile of toys helps relieve some of the holiday stress for parents by providing them with an opportunity to select toys for their hospital bound children, without leaving the hospital to go shopping. Also, some of the toys donated by Seaboard Marine are used as gifts for children with compromised immune systems who cannot share toys with other children”.
