Seaboard Marine wishes to advise our valued customers of changes in the local demurrage and detention charges in Haiti for dry equipment billed by Veconinter.

Effective Sunday, May 24, 2026, demurrage and detention rates for dry containers will increase from $25 per day for 20’ equipment and $35 per day for 40’ and 45’ equipment to $40 per day for all container sizes (20’, 40’, and 45’).
This increase applies to both import and export shipments.

Imports

Dry Equipment (20’, 40’, and 45’)

  • Demurrage Free Time: 17 calendar days
  • Demurrage Charge: $40 per day thereafter
  • Detention Free Time: 4 calendar days
  • Detention Charge: $40 per day thereafter

Exports

Dry Equipment (20’, 40’, and 45’)
  • Combined Demurrage & Detention Free Time: 21 calendar days
  • Charge: $40 per day thereafter

Refrigerated and Special Equipment

Rates and terms for refrigerated and special equipment will remain unchanged, with 11 free days (combined demurrage and detention) and a charge of $150 per day thereafter.

Exceptions

Shipments of household goods and/or personal effects will continue to receive 21 calendar days of combined demurrage and detention free time. Standard charges will apply thereafter.
Rates for refrigerated and special equipment remain unchanged.
All other applicable tariff terms and conditions remain in effect.
