Seaboard Marine wishes to advise its valued customers on clarification provided from the Costa Rican government on the previously announced implementation of a 13% Value Added Tax effective July 1, 2019.
The new tax will be applied to all services performed for Ocean Carriers when vessels arrive at Costa Rican ports to discharge and load containers. Seaboard Marine will increase the Costa Rica Terminal Handling Charge by $45 per container for shipments to Costa Rica.
The increase, effective July 28, 2019, will apply to both tariff rates and service contracts.
