Seaboard Marine wishes to advise its valued customers, effective January 1, 2026, all shipments containing charcoal and carbon products must be classified as Dangerous Goods in accordance with the latest International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code regulations. This change is mandatory and applies to all relevant shipments moving forward.

We strongly recommend that you review your shipping documents and inventory lists for common trade names associated with charcoal and carbon products. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Bamboo Charcoal
  • Carbon Briquettes
  • Carbon of Vegetable Origin
  • Carbon Shell
  • Coal Vegetable Packages
  • Coconut Shell
  • Hardwood
  • Magnesia Carbon Brick
