Seaboard Once Again Sponsors Food For the Poor Event
February 09, 2012
Seaboard Marine salutes the incredible outreach and efforts of Food For The Poor (FFTP). Established in 1982, FFTP has grown to become the largest international relief and development organization based in the United States. Food For The Poor, headquartered in Coconut Creek, Florida, employs approximately 350 persons but maintains an administrative cost of less than 4% ensuring more than 96% of all donations go directly into programs that help the poor. In the last thirty years, Food For The Poor has provided more than $8 billion in aid and has built more than 73,000 housing units.
Seaboard Marine has partnered with Food For The Poor for nearly three decades by transporting thousands of containers of relief goods throughout the Americas, particularly after natural disasters. Seaboard Marine is proud to once again have sponsored Food For The Poor’s annual fund raising gala which was held this past Saturday, February 4, 2012. Proceeds from last week's event will directly benefit the people of Olivier, a village in Haiti which was devastated in the January 2010 earthquake. Seaboard Marine encourages all its customers, vendors and friends to donate to this truly wonderful organization at www.foodforthepoor.org .
