New 45x102" containers recently discharged in Houston
July 13, 2011
Seaboard Marine has recently received an additional 115 new 45-foot (102-inch wide) dry containers that are in addition to 725 similar new units received in 2010 and early 2011. These extra width containers, delivered this week in Houston, have been immediately deployed to serve customers in Central America and the Caribbean.
“Over the years, Seaboard has constantly strived to not only provide our customers the highest quality equipment but also the right type,” said Edward Gonzalez, Seaboard Marine President. “We continue to invest in new 45’ x 102” wide containers to meet the specific needs of many key customers, particularly those with two-way cargoes.”
In the last twelve months, over 840 of these specialized containers have been received and are now being used within the Seaboard Marine system, mostly in Central America.
With the delivery of these 115 new containers, Seaboard Marine has nearly 3,200 of the specialized 45’ x 102” containers, all owned, within its equipment network. These dry containers are part of a broad and diverse container and chassis fleet that consists of nearly 57,000 pieces of cargo-carrying equipment.
