Haiti Facilities Re-open After Hurricane Tomas
November 08, 2010
November 8, 2010. 11:00a EST Final update. Seaboard’s offices and facilities in Haiti have re-opened this morning after having been closed on November 4-6 due to Hurricane Tomas. Seaboard’s local office and terminal (Maritime Logisitics of Haiti) are handling customer calls and deliveries today in a normal fashion. The M/V Seaboard Sun is currently docked and discharging cargoes. Fortunately, damages from the storm were minimal to port and terminal facilities. All of our employees in Port-au-Prince advise that they are fine.
Seaboard’s facilities in Kingston Jamaica were closed for less than 24 hours late last week but re-opened on the afternoon of November 5. All vessel and cargo receiving and delivery activities have returned to normal in Jamaica.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of our customers as we enter the final month of the 2010 Hurricane Season.
