Payment Surcharge in Panama

All freight charges paid in Panama will be subject to a thirty (30%) percent surcharge effective July 5, 2010. This surcharge will apply to all monies collected in Panama. Specifically, it will apply to all imports to Panama where the bill of lading is issued “Freight Collect.” This includes PBA’s. It also covers all exports from Panama where the bill of lading is issued “Freight Prepaid”.

These surcharges apply to all tariffs and contracts as well as all equipment sizes and types.
