Nassau County, Florida Honors Seaboard
September 22, 2007

September 21, 2007. Seaboard Marine was recognized tonight by the Nassau County Economic Development Board (NCEDB) at its annual Business and Industry Appreciation Dinner at Amelia Island Plantation.

Due to its recent growth at the Port of Fernandina Beach, Seaboard was presented the "Business Expansion and Retention Award."

The NCEDB noted that Seaboard has shown strong commitment to the area as of one the Port of Fernandina's largest tenants since 1999 and now has two weekly services calling on five different countries in the Caribbean Basin. Further, Seaboard's office has grown from two employees to ten since the beginning of the year.

Seaboard's Frank Cueto said, "We have appreciated the support and partnership of the port community, especially Nassau Terminals, for the past decade. Trade is growing rapidly to Latin America and the Caribbean and we are poised to take advantage of such in North Florida with our partners."

Spotswood Watkins, who heads Green Island Maritime Inc., a Fernandina-based company that Seaboard recently formed to handle ship agency services in the region, added, "The Port of Fernandina creates hundreds of quality jobs. Seaboard is proud to be a key part of this growing economic engine for Nassau County."
