November 29, 2012 - (Final update). The NY/NJ Port Authority has re-opened all of its facilities with only a few minor challenges remaining. For the most part, trucking services have also returned to normal.

November 20, 2012 - Seaboard Marine would like to advise its customers who ship via Honduras that under the weight of a mobile shore crane, one of the key piers in Puerto Cortes, Honduras recently sustained damage and presently remains inoperable.

Seaboard’s NJ Office Reopens but Red Hook Terminal Remains Closed Due to Sandy Last Updated: November 05, 2012  
November 02, 2012 - (9:00 a.m. update). The NY/NJ Port Authority has continued with its order closing all marine terminals to truck and vessel traffic due to Hurricane Sandy. As a result, Seaboard Marine’s operations at the Red Hook Terminal remain suspended.

October 31, 2012 - As a result of the impact of Hurricane Sandy in the Port of New York/New Jersey area, Port Authority Officials have closed all port terminal facilities and the harbor is currently closed to vessel traffic. It is not yet known when these facilities and the harbor will reopen.

Jamaican Offices Close Due to Hurricane Sandy Last Updated: October 26, 2012  
October 24, 2012 - (2:30p update). Seaboard Marine’s offices (both Kingston and Montego Bay) in Jamaica are closed today due to Hurricane Sandy which is approaching the south coast of Jamaica. The entire country is currently under a Hurricane Warning.



M/V Mare Purchased. Renamed M/V Seaboard Atlantic. Last Updated: October 22, 2012  
October 19, 2012 - Seaboard Marine earlier this month completed the purchase of the M/V Mare, a 974 TEU (twenty-foot equivalents) container vessel. The versatile ship arrived at the Port of Miami today and has been renamed the M/V Seaboard Atlantic.

Chile Imposes Import Fumigation Requirements Last Updated: April 12, 2012  
April 12, 2012 - The Chilean government has recently required certain cargoes imported into Chilean ports to be fumigated. The Chilean Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) now requires that any second-hand clothes, toys, vehicles or similar used merchandise must be fumigated.
