Seaboard Marine has recently received 340 new 40-foot refrigerated (reefer) high-cube containers. The reefers, which will be used throughout the Seaboard Marine network, were delivered in Santo Tomas, Guatemala last week in preparation for the peak perishables season.

As a result of the impact of Hurricane Sandy in the Port of New York/New Jersey area, Port Authority Officials have closed all port terminal facilities and the harbor is currently closed to vessel traffic. It is not yet known when these facilities and the harbor will reopen.

Seaboard Marine earlier this month completed the purchase of the M/V Mare, a 974 TEU (twenty-foot equivalents) container vessel. The versatile ship arrived at the Port of Miami today and has been renamed the M/V Seaboard Atlantic.
